being someone who just got down doing the intake manifold gasket, i would highly recommendlink to guide

i didnt remove the fuel lines from the fuel rail. i just moved it to the side when i was working. Romoving it prolly would have made it easier, but i didnt want to get fuel everywhere.

this guide helped me a lot.
i just did my gasket last weekend. It took me 2 days. I didnt work as feverishly as i should have though. Be prepared to come out of the deal with scraped knuckles and dont forget to unplug the EGR selenoid on the next to last bolt on the dirvers side, i broke those wires cuz i forgot about it being there.

take some engine degreaser and take the time to clean everything up really well while you have it all off

paint it if you want to, mine is LT4 red, but my car is also red so it looks nice.

make a really thick bead along the ridges and dont forget to put the RTV along the gasket on boith sides, the gasket is not a "dry gasket" and even if it was, you should put RTV on both sides anyways

hope this helps, this board was really helpful when i did mine so i am returning the favor.

Are you positive it's the intake that's leaking from the front? A common leak on these cars is the seal around the waterpump drive gear. I'd add dye to the oil and check it with a blacklight before yanking off the intake.

I agree with OBE1. Most of the the time...in fact....all the ones I've heard of are intake leaks coming from the rear of the engine. I personally have never heard of any leaking from the front. My Opti seal is leaking right now and getting oil all over and its only a couple drips. Just changed them all too. Kinda sucks.

Well the oil is getting all over the opti and the pulley... I also found oil on my coil but that might just be from theoil hitting the pulley, so basicly oil is all over the bottom part of the engine
