What's this in my trunk?

I was cleaning out my trunk today and was nosing around & found something I didn't know I had. Located on the left side (kinda where the doughnut spare is located on the right side)
it looks like a small motor has wires going to it. It has brass fittings and small tubes running out of it, and what appears to be
a black plastic valve centered on the top of it. This thing is buried under the carpet that lines the trunk and had a 3"X3" "access" cut-out in the carpet above it. That's what made me curious.

Anyone know what this is or what it is for?

Thanks in advance....

It could be the hydrolic motor for your convertible top. Camaros Convertibles do have power tops right?

Yep, it is the pneumatic pump for the convertible top. I have one. Never had to touch it and hope I never will.

Thanks guys I thought it might be for the drop top, was also thinking maybe an automatic level ride/air shick pump. didn't know the top had a system like that.

Thanks again
