I believe the STOCK programming will cut the fuel at 5800RPM, or no more than 6100....

AS said before the computer cuts fuel stock at 5750 or there abouts.

Then as also said, it is impossible to spin past 7k rpm with the stock computer. You would need to have converted to FAST or accel DFI to get the added fuel maps. The stock computer doesnt even have a spot where you can enter variables.

There are reported cases of guys getting past the 7k with the stock PCM (not 8000rpms though!). However, a personal friend of mine experienced complete shutdown (rpms -> 0) as soon as he tagged 7k.

With that in mind, whoever you're talking to is a tool.

Don't we all wish we could hit the nitrous button at 8.5k and bring it past 10k?

I frequently spin basically stock LT1 bottom ends to 7500 rpm without failure. I have a lot more cam than an LT4 and DFI though. When I was running my little L99 motor I ran it past 8000 rpm one time and it stayed together. A lot can be said for accurately balancing the rotating assembly.

Someone needs to hack the ECU and add some tables so you dont have to spend 2k on FAST or some other aftermarket ECU.
