I can't really speak for which one is louder, but I love the way my 2OTL sounds. VERY deep with no rasp.

Dude, I get so many compliments on my SLP 2OTL that I almost feel guilty when people ask what it is. I bought mine used off a board member for $80. It is the best sounding exhaust ever, and thats with stock manifolds, and the mods on my mods page. I did notice that I get an almost blow off valve sound when I let off up high in the RPM. But it just sounds so unbelievably bad *** that I was drivig in early January with my windows down and the heat crankin just because I love the sound

It is pretty loud, but not raspy at all, when you get the exhaust pops when you let off, it almost sounds like thunder. Real deep, not high pitched

I also am not a fan of the exhaust exiting on one side of the car. Just like all of the people complaining about the look of the exhaust on the GTO, in a muscle car, I like split tips.

yea, I'll be honest, you have to get used to the look. I don't mind it at all now, but I do like the 2 tips as well.

But this is about sound and flow, not looks

I love my hooker and my hooker loves me.

even if its cold outside i would wind down the window, put it in 3rd gear and lightly accelererate and decelerate to hear the exhaust

I've heard both and can honestly say that you can't go wrong either way. They are very similar. Neither has any rasp. Both are deep when the throttle is on. Both are quiet when cruising. The hooker may be a little quieter at idle and a little deeper toned when starting on the gas.

I've heard both many times. The SLP 2 on the left is much nicer and deeper sounding. If you like the old 60's big block sound the 2 on the left is as close as you will get. With a set of headers and no cats, it really wakes up.

werd....

the sound is so great you tend to overlook its style....

With some minimal effort and an exhaust pipe bender, I can forsee fabbing something up with traditional looking dual tips. But it would more than likely change the sound a bit. But would be cool.

I don't know how you guys can think the 2OTL is louder than a Hooker chambered muffler. My 2OTL is quieter than stock during normal driving, the only time it gets loud is at WOT, and that's a totally different sound than the Hooker sound. The 2OTL is totally smooth, like a Viper. At WOT in the upper rpms it sounds like a slightly lower toned Ferrari.

BUT, I've heard 2OTL's with the stock manifolds and CATs and it was a little more rumbly and deeper that my 2OTL with Longtubes, 3" ypipe and no cats.

Anyway, I was in the same boat. I couldn't decide between the 2OTL and a Hooker catback but I eventually decided on the 2OTL because it's stainless and I am absolutely positive that I made the right decision. Get the 2OTL if you want a smoother sound. Get the Hooker if you want a muscle car sound.

What part of my post is wrong? I said that a car with stock manifolds/cats would sound deeper than my car with longtubes and full 3" ypipe and no cats because the air on a setup like mine flows a lot smoother, and you stated that your car has the stock manifolds.

Also, you shouldn't be getting pops with a non crossflow muffler, if you do get a lot of pops you must have a leak somewhere.

I have physically installed a Hooker catback on a car and my full exhaust setup with the 2OTL, and I can tell you that my post was accurate according to my real life experience with these two exhaust setups.

See, I told you it would **** you off.

I do have an exhaust leak and thats a good call on your side. Anyway, its all opinions and I don't agree with yours and you don't agree with mine. Lets just leave it at that...

They both sound great! I wish the exhaust tips on the Hooker had rolled chrome lips. It's hard to tell that they are chrome when you look at them straight on. With my old tips (see sig pic 3), you could see them easily.

I may sell the Hooker tips and buy some that have rolled chrome lips. I really liked that look and I miss it.

I can say this. I can't imagine a deeper sound than the Hooker on a LT1 engine without getting obnoxiously loud.

I also think the TOTL is quieter, but not by a whole lot. The TOTL does have a little bit of a "techier" side to it, more like an exotic car would sound with the LT1 in it. It is still plenty deep in tone though.
