The bumps on the camshaft are the lobes. The LSA or Lobe Separation Angle is the number of degrees between intake centerline and exhaust centerline.

For a cam, you have degrees of duration... 202 for the intake on stock cam, 210 for the exhaust. That is how long the cam lobe will create lift. So out of 360 degrees, the intake valve would be getting lift for 202 degrees. Aftermarket cams up the duration, make the valves open longer, more degrees, more air in or out, more power, etc.

The lobes have a centerline, thats like the peak of the cam. Where the lobe is the highest, where it gives the most lift. Before this the valve is opening, after it closes. Stock intake centerline is 113 before TDC, exhaust is 121 after TDC.

Lobe seperation angle is how far apart the intake and exhaust centerlines are. Stock, there are 117 degrees between them. It shows how far apart the lobes peak from each other. Aftermarket cams might raise this number to help make the cam more streetable.

Wider angle will decrease overlap, give better power down low, and give better intake vaccum. So if your comparing 2 cams with the exact same duration and lift, the one with the bigger number like 114, compared to 112, will be tamer, more streetable, etc. The 112 will sacrifice some drivability for better performance.
