Whats a good cam with optimal shift points at 6000-6200 rpm?

I was doing a search and people were saying that some of the cams I was looking at like the cc306 and XE 230/236 had optimal shift points at 6500rpm and up.

I don't want to do anything to damage my motor and I only drag race occasionaly so I'd be happy with shift points at 6000-6200.

My car is mostly stock and I won't be doing heads this year.

I want that badass cc306 sound too.

Try this cam:224/230 duration, .536"/.544", 112lsa

It is a comp cam, it'll have a maximum shift point of 6400 rpm with head work and it sound really good. IMHO it sound better than the cc306. More of a tuned sound than an all out dragster sound.

One more vote for the 224/230 with 6200rpm shift points!

You can get the sound you want from a little less duration with narrower LSA. You'll probably find more low-mid torque and with the right valvetrain parts it will still pull some revs.

I'm not putting a calculator to it right now but my initial thoughts are ~210-215º @.050 with 108-110º lsa (to be determined by DCR).

I can't speak for the rest of us but mindgame knows more about cams than I do.

Mindgame: Wouldn't the cam you suggested make the car have less vaccum because of the lsa being so close?
