Whats this emissions device?

Whats this emissions device?
I saw something that I dont know what it is on my y pipe. It is a small thing before the passenger cat i believe. Is it a precat or something? What does this thing do? Its shaped like a cylinder.

If it's before the catalytic converter, it isn't the catalytic converter. 
Does it have a wire coming from it? You're probably looking at the bank 2 oxygen sensor.
