whats this code mean?

I just went to auto zone because of a ses light. I've been having a lot of troublewith my oxygen sensors reading slow, and I have changed them 3 times. Anyways I get this p-1642 code and the guy can't give me a good explanation. Can anyone give me an explination of this code? Thanks

Re: whats this code mean?

It means there is a problem with the fan control relays 2 and 3 circuit. Are the fans coming on at the proper time?

As far as I know. I haven't had any trouble with overheating. The t-stat usually stays in the 170-180 range.

Re: whats this code mean?

Do you have a fan switch? If you do, that might be causing that code.

Also, you can try pulling and reinserting the relays to see if the codes come back.

Yes I do have a fan switch, I didn't use it but I'll bet it got bumped. I'll check the relays if the problem comes back. Thanks for the help
