I think the biggest done is a 401 or 403, can't remember. But its not really worth it unless you just want bragging rights on the size. You could easily go 396 with heads and a huge cam and make just as much horse power and leave the cylinder walls with enough "wall" for comfort....

ive heard Lingenfelter offers "sleeves" that allow for 427 conversion. id do a 383 or 396 as stated and mod the poopie out of it. bigger walls are generally a good idea

yea good point. I was thinking within the limitations of the block. I'm sure with the right metals and a butt load of money you can line the walls with super duper titobitanium or some stuff and go even bigger. Who knows. But if you ask me anything bigger than a 396 is ridiculous.... Just cut the shock tower braces and drop a 454 in there or something

biggest I know of is 421 c.i. LT1. required Callies internal parts, custom blueprinting, balancing and special timing chain modifications. The motor is ATI procharged and Nitrous fed also. Makes near 900 HP with nitrous injecting.

C5R 454? are you that intent on keeping an LT1? if you want 1000hp there are other options

bragging rights, because I dont see the extra 10-15 cubic inches (over a 396) helping him much. If he cant put it in the 9s with 752rwhp, more power isnt what he needs

BMR makes a big block K-member for our cars now I think that would do the trick

It just depends on whether you want a big "LT1" motor or a big motor in an LT1 car.

Well, I am building another car. I am building a 1995 Formula Firebird. The car is amazing, I've had it for awhile and it only has 7,841 miles on it. I want to build a super, super nice car. I've already started installing all BMR tubular suspension components and have a lot of stuff yet to do.

I'm also installing the new NOS NOSzle system on it next week. I am basically just going to try and get the car into the super low 11s for the time being, then take the motor out of it, and put it on an engine stand and just keep the factory LT4 heads/intake motor. Then buy another LT1 out of a salvage car or something and build a bad *** nitrous motor. My goal is to keep it as streetable as possible, but still go wicked fast.

My 1996 YS-Trim car is a solid roller, big cam, high boost, race gas only, etc... With this car I want to go mild, pump gas compression, with forged internals and big displacement...just cause I want to. Then, jet my NOSzle system at 300hp and go to town.

I'm going to look into the 427ci sleeves from Lingenfelter. But, seeing how it might be incredibly expensive and take a knock at my reliability issue...I might end up with a damn 396ci. I just wanted to have bigger than the general population.

Thanks everyone!!

752RWHP? GODDANG!! ive seen some old foxbodys go 8's with just 700rwhp with the right suspension and tires at 160mph, so i know 9's would be possible for you.

396 and 20 psi is what i am going to be running in about 10 years. Should push 700-800rwhp go 8's with suspension. Why not make a 350 that makes 700rwhp that would be even cooler......anyone can do it with big cubes

Yea you need to do suspension before you do anything else......seen 660rwhp run 9's........that should be close to 8's if you are hooking it.

Well send the 700rwhp motor here when your done with it.....save me about 10 grand and a lot of hassle.

I want to see dyno graphs

My car weighs 3,700+ lbs. It's a full weight, working air conditioning, power options, leather, 6-speed with cruise control, etc...

I don't forsee it running 8's anytime soon. Thanks though.

It has every aftermarket suspension component known to man...it still blows the tires off in 4th gear at 80mph+.
