I posted my thoughts on that car in the lounge. To recap, it looks like an RX8 and I dont like it at all. A 1 on a 1-10 scale. The Mustang side vents that duct fresh air to the rear fenders are the worst feature.

I hope it aint so!

YEESH! I would hope that they'd come up with something better than that. Doesn't look like a Corvette at all. I would be surprised if they stray too far from the successful C5 formula.

I can't figure out what this is. Solstice wheels, but not exactly. RX-8 roofline, but not exactly.

I don't know... could be.

Yeah, picture the car with pop-up headlights and it looks more like a Vette. I agree that it looks similar to the RX8; then again the very successful C5 was a "copy of the RX7."

The single duct on the side looks a bit out of place. Perhaps they should have gone with three in a row like the '63-67 cars. I think that's the era this car will most closely resemble, especially in profile.

I'll give it a thumbs up and give GM credit for not staying too close to the already popular C5. I'd rather have a daring new car than a minor facelift.

To me, the problem seems to be that the car is too generic looking. It doesn't look like a Vette. I see Solstice in the greenhouse. If you look at the actual mag, they have a 'vert concept from the 3/4 rear view in blue. Much nicer looking. I like the lines in the tops of the fenders.
Not sure about the headlights (non-pop-ups are fine, just not these ones. Don't like the grille either. Needs a vertical split thru the center or something.
In closing, they need to address the greenhouse, the headlights, and the grille.
The article said that the Gen III (LS1) V-8 will morph into the Gen IV V-8 with expected horsepower of 380 HP. The Z06 will go away for a year and then come back in the second year. No word on power for the Z06. The 'vert may get a power top.
It also said that GM does NOT want to do retro.
It seems GM does not like the retro idea. Thank God.

AND MY COMMENT:
Two words about the above pictures: NO WAY!

Thats just fancy photo editing of the Solstice along with cues that have already been talked about such as exposed headlights.
R&T had to do something to sell more mags than Motor Trend.

Well, a quick glampse at the car makes me think it was built on the same platform as Solstice.

Behold, I present to you Chevrolet Solstette, which will be rebadged and sold also as Pontiac Corstice.
