what y-pipe with jet hotts?

i think i'm gonna get some jet hott longtube headers with emissions, is it true that any y-pipe will work that will fit hooker longtubes?

i have a 97 z w/ borla cat back, what can i expect the sound to do with some jet hott lt's ?

Yes because the only difference between Hooker LT's and Jet-Hot LT's is that Jet-Hot's are thicker gauged...aside from that they're identical...

Mufflex makes a great Y pipe...you can also have one made custom that is non mandrel-bent...

1: Thats the theory but some have had fitment problems while others have not.

2: You will lose that really deep rumble that makes the borla sound so nice.

Yup. I lost mine so I ditched the Borla for the Hooker.

I had a custom pipe made for my Jet-Hots, saves the trouble of fitment issues.

Do they make ones that are emissions legit with a cat on it too ? If so id be really interested in doing headers soon ... I have the money, just havent been looking into modding since i just got it done ( from buying it totalled and rebuilding it )

NOTHING is emissions legal with long tubes, because if you relocate the cats, it's considered illegal......you can still pass a sniffer test, but if they see that u relocated the cats you're screwed unless u give good head.

You're probably best off just going to a good custom muffler shop and having them do the y-pipe for you. Many of the shops that deal mostly with high-performance custom jobs will just buy the mandrel bends and weld them up so you have a mandrel y-pipe. They will probably charge about the same as any pre-fabbed one and the fitment is catered to your car.

As ibanez6rg said, Hooker make a great Y-Pipe. It fits perfectly, but its an off-road pipe so it has no cats. I am sure you could mod it to have some, but like Cmr0z28 said, it still wont be legal because of them being relocated. ANyway, LS1speed has them instock for $169.99.

stainless works makes one too, fitment and all is good, just a tad more pricey and such than the hookers.
