You may want to rethink the MSD 8.5's... mine did the same thing that your taylor wires did...
they didn't burn thru, but they have cracks down to the fibers all over the place... I also used the accell wire covers...

i think the only way to go is OVC...

I am getting OVC, im still worried that the boots themselves are going to touch the primaries on my hookers.. ive had 5 wires burn over time and some on the wire, one right into the boot itself... I'm wasting so much money on just wires lol.

And they got hot because you did a **** poor, just a **** **** poor, job of installation. It could potentially be the worst plug wire installation ever. 95ttoplt1 would need to confirm that.

I ran Taylor OVC with my hooker (now yours) long tubes and there was plenty of room. No more burnt wires.

Putting the wires together though is a complete pain in the ***.

Soapy water and I used a set of wire crimpers with one of the coax round crimping spots. It was just slightly smaller than the wire so I could use it to grab the wire and push it through the boot without worrying about cutting into the wires.

So, you're pissed at me for mocking the guy who claimed your only possible problem was a **** poor installation? Are you two sleeping together? And just so I don't get labeled as a hater, it's cool if you are.

So much for trying to add some levity.

Sorry man, it was my bad. I misread your post and took it as directly towards me and I have been kind of short fused lately since nothing has been going my way. So, sorry I'm about that.

An the other hand my plug wires will be here today so after their installed in the next few days I'll post up the results.

And Critter, the small ground wire thats in the starter harness? That one is hooked up and the injectors are wired up correctly. I may add another ground strap from the motor to the body to be on the safe side, but is it really needed?

No problem. I'm looking forward to hearing how the MSD's work out. I'm considering them, but probably in an OTVC setup.

Plug wire are here nad I'm going out right now to install them with some TR55s. The wires look really good, but MSD should include 2 sets of #s for the F-bodys to make it a little easier on us

I'll post back after everything is done if it runs any better, but heres some pics of the new wires .....

Done in under 4 hours!!! But I couldn't start it to see if it will run any better cause the neighbors would probably call the cops Once I got all the passengers side wires off the #6 wire was also burnt through. So I was only running on 6 cylinders, but the other cylinder's plugs looked good, its running a little rich, but not too bad. So tomorrow I have to grab some oil and change that quick and see if it runs better (fingers crossed)

On a side note the ring gear is really sharp taking the starter off I smashed my pinky into it and split my fingernail and got a nice slice out of the deal, but other than that it went pretty smooth and I now have no more sleeves and have at least 1/2" between the wire and the header tubes.

She's running hard!!!! I think it might have a miss up top ~6000 RPMs but I can't tell, the motor revs pretty quick and I might be getting into the revlimiter But I'm going to finally take it to work tonight and try to get some miles on it

If I find anything else out I'll post that up, but thanks for the help as always
