What is wrong with my car!?

I recently started driving my car again after sitting it over winter. I got it inspected and the guy who did it really didnt tell me anything else seemed wrong. I replaced my brakes and what not to pass and the car is exempt from emissions so the SES light is on. Awhile back i had the codes checked and something with the MAF and EGR flow came up. the egr will be deleted when i put my pacesetter lt's on but not sure wat the maf problem is.
Anyways the car was running ok when i started driving it again except for the fact it wont start right away usually not sure what that is.. opti maybe?? it takes awhile then usually starts right up on 2nd try. but the main problem im having started to happen after i put seafoam in my gas on my 1st fill up after starting to drive itagain after sitting all winter.

i have used seafoam before on the gas , intake, and oil before. this time around it was different. I put the can in with the full tank of gas and right when i tried starting it it was bogging out on me and kept dying on me. The idle was irratic and it would just die all of a sudden. It went away after a bit of starting it back up but it has done it a few times since then. It would do it randomly on start up and then go away very quickly. I have had questions about my engine last year when my oil was smelling like fuel really bad. never found out what it was exactly or how to find out. but changed my injectors when eveyrone was saying it may of been a leaky injector. I havnt noticed the smell in the oil as bad but still having weird problems like this. I just want to know if anyone out there has any idea what it could be or what to do to find out.

Its like the car runs great then it does stuff like this. Im also having low oil pressure at times where it goes down so far and the CHECK GAUGES light comes on. I have a decent mechanic i go to but hes kind of a dick sometimes and doesnt like to really bull!#*!#*!#*!#* with my car.. he only really does work when i figure out what i need and can just tell him what i want and he gives me a price and i do it if i want. He never can diagnose anything so im just trying to find someone who can help with these problems. Im sure i need more info and im sure my run on sentences and paragraphs are annoying.. but if anyone has a clue or any suggestions it would be much appreciated.. thanks ...

Not really enough details to go off of but I would change the fuel filter to start. Can't hurt, cheap and very easy.

No discussion of what the car is reading diagnostically or what happens at other than idle. Need that to better understand.

Agreed. Update with exact codes triggering your SES light. If there's cross contamination, (ie. fuel in the oil) that's not good. The reason for fuel in the oil needs to be found if it wasn't the injectors and oil/oil filter changed.

Check your fuel pressure. Should be right around 42 psi,and hold there after it primes and you turn the key off.

They are the codes that are coming up. I will get a fuel pressure gauge to test that. I have read that the codes really dont have much to do with what is actually wrong. Ive read stuff like it could be my oil pressure sending unit, maybe the pickup tube fell off in the pan, fuel pump, fuel filter, bad opti, bad wires and or plugs. All these problems are answers im finding when searching for my type of symtoms.Such as low oil pressure and check gauges light coming on when its hot and at a standstill. Car idling irraticly and bogging out occasionally at start up. Car not starting right away after a few cranks it fires up.Sometimes i dont hear my fuel pump like i normally do. Its like i read all this stuff about other peoples problems and sounds alot like mine.. but dont know where to start to fix these problems. i dont have the proper tools, work space or alot of money. i just want someone who can honestly help and lead me in the right direction. I dont want to ruin this engine and just want it to run properly.

What part of town are you from? I know a good mechanic in the North Hills that could help you out.

Here are links to the two OBDII codes that are going off. I hope that gives you a clue at least. Good luck!

I will change the fuel filter along with whatever else i find out i need to change here soon.Codes are listed and not sure that they even pertain to my actual problem. Car does this on and off first off.. It will sometimes start up and run fine and then when it gets hot and im at a stand still the oil pressure drops to 0 and CHECK GAUGES light comes on. From time to time the car idles irraticly and bogs out on start up.. but hasnt done that in over a week now actually.

Codes are listed and once again dont think they really pertain to my problem but im not sure. ANYONE KNOW??? About the fuel in the oil i havent really noticed the distinct fuel smell on the dipstick lately. my oil looks and smells better after driving on the new oil change for about 2 weeks now. not sure tho but yes that is what im trying to figure out as well , how exactly i was getting exessive fuel in my oil? anyone know???

Not likely to get a response from "spyder24", he hasn't signed into this site since 2012.

You need to provide info on your car - year, engine (at this point assuming it's an LT!), trans, any major engine modifications.

Assuming you meant to type "I can't seem to get my codes" - There are four different methods required to pull codes depending on the year of the car - 1993 (short the ALDL pins, OBD-1 scanner, or Scan9495), 1994 (OBD-1 scanner, or Scan 94/95), 1995 (same as 1994, but requires interface to the unique 16-pin ALDL connector), 1996/97 (OBD-2 scanner).

Then you need code listing, depending on whether it is 1993, 1994/95 or 1996/97.

Re: What is wrong with my car!?

OK.... see you already have this same question tacked on to another thread. And in that one you managed to tell us it's a 1995.

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/lt1...eating-881858/

PLEASE do not post the same question in multiple threads and forums. It just causes confusion and wastes our time.
