well, my car is running like $hit right now. when ever i get on it stutters and sounds like it is back firing. and sometime i will just be going along about 30 mph and out of no where it will get a power surge. then also when it is acting up really bad, the SES light will start flashing. i have checked the opti and my plugs and wires. they are all fine. does anybody have a clue or any suggestions. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
BTW my car is a 97 Ram Air TA

 

I'm thinking O2 sensors may be going causing it to run rich, and setting off the dreaded SES light.

 

Scan it and stop wasting time guessing.

 

This kind of od ball stuff usually ends up being emitions related.

 

I had a problem like this once and it was my TPS sensor, try unplugging it and see if you still get the problem. If not then thats what it is, 2 minute install. If the problem still occurs you know your TPS is still good

If im reading it correctly the SES code only flashes on and off when the problem occurs, aka while driving. I got this assumption because it happened to me, and everytime I scanned it nothing came up.

 

Come on down to my house I have an AutoXray scanner you can borrow.

 

wether the light is still on does not matter. The trouble code is stored in the memory and it can be pulled anytime.
