The high idle could be a vaccum line or fouled sensor...just my $.02

Re: what is wrong with my bone stock dyno???

GrannyCar i think it might be something electrical because of the Bouncy band or maybe the car wasn't well straped to the dyno. But the power isn't that bad for a stock LT1 A4. I got a friend with a 94 z28 (100k miles) made 248 rwhp and i dont remember the tq but that was with a CAI.

Zigroid it looks as if you are running rich, but i notice that the tq on the 2nd pull was defenitly wrong 220 lbs-ft.

Also it appears that you only revved to about 4200 RPM on that pull. I forgot where stock power peak is but I'm pretty sure it's above that.

Looks correct, except for how bad the curves are.

244 rwhp 285 rwtq is right on for a stock A4.

I agree with with you. gannycar I belive you can get more if those crazy lines didnt show. That a sign of a week or bad electrical problem, also run high grade gas don't be cheap when it come to the car.

You know that the LT1 requires 91/92 octane? You shouldn't be running that low octane, it will cause the engine to run rich/lean back and forth, trust me I know.

Unless you have a friend with a free dyno, why would spend the money to dyno if you know you have a problem?????? When you get a number...like you did, what does that mean?? Will you be able to say, "If I'm this good now, just wait till I get it fixed, I'll kick your A$$"?????

How do you know the problem isn't such that when kicked up to 5 or 6 grand wouldn't blow the engine????????? Seen plenty of blown head gaskets causing misfires and that situation could easily hydro lock. OUCH.

Bill Engvall said it best

YO! You are running the wrong octane, running the wrong octane will give you missing, un-normal idling, etc. You had your heads machined down, thus increasing your compression ratio, which means you really need a higher octane. Get some new gas!!!

Yap, if the wire gets a hot spot it will crack the installation which cause the wire to ground out the car to miss, that will also go for a bad or loose spark plug. I wouldnt worry about the opti just yet leave the worst for last.
