to pull LT1... get a blower cam, port heads to match, or get a z06 motor, put a s/c on it and drop it in--stock z06 gets ok gas milage, just wondering if that heads is gonna guzzle gas in lt1 --we are talking about a 6 speed car with 4.10 gear

the price difference between these 2 options is insane

i say Get the LT1 and throw a blower on it, but the cam will more then likley kill the gas milage

Why are you so concerned with gas mileage. Your gonna have a blown motor that is a daily driver??

A blown motor with 4.10's? Gas Mileage? Why not just go get a cheap rice burner for daily use, It would be cheaper.

First off, think of both turbo cars and supercharged cars as Forced Induction. The only difference is how the blower is driven.

A turbo has a higher theoretical efficiency. The turbo makes use of heat energy in the exhaust system that would otherwise go right out the tailpipe. It harnesses that energy via the turbine and uses it to drive a blower.

A belt driven blower just takes energy off the flywheel and lets all that heat energy out the tailpipe unharnessed. Superchargers are just for making big power easily, not for efficiency.

Of course specific examples of efficiency could go either way in practice. Turbos are especially effective on diesels, not just raising the peak output but actually raising the efficiency over their NA counterparts.
