engin instaall an bottom pully
i just had my motor rebuilt. we have it in the car but we have to put the bottom pully on. the book i have shows something diffrent (i think).would the guy that built the motor have it in timing, seeing how he replaced everything. we put the opti-sparf and new cap and roto botton on (cap an insides new).do i just press the bottom pully on that's about all we like to start the motor. it's got ported heads,52mm throttle body,header,160 t-satat,programer,flowmasters,ect..except for bolting something on and working on mustangs i know nothing about this lt1 ho yeah it's got lt4 hot cam an springs?????? any help would be real nice thanks alot chirs 95/ss/z28/red
the bottom pully i know it's the blancer. but the crank as a key on it. but the pully dosen't have a notch for the crank key.the bottom pully is in one peace .an the hains book shows nothing at all jus the bottom pully in two pices i don't think mine comes apart.then how do you know if it's in time?
keyless
the balancer & hub is a two piece design.
The hub presses onto the crank snout and bolts down using the single bolt down the center. The balancer bolts to the hub using three bolts. No, the hub does not use a key, its keyless, although the crank still has a keyway. The hub and balancer should both have an arrow cast into it somewhere. On the hub it should be between two of the three arms. On the balancer it should be on the face between two of the three arms. Basically you install the arrows on both pointing straight up (12 o'clock) when the #1 cylinder is at TDC. IIRC the keyway on the crank will end up being at about the 2 o'clock position (or is it 10 o'clock?) when #1 is at TDC.
