What is the weight savings going to stock front LS1 brakes

I was wondering if anyone has weighed the front LS1 brake setup vs the front LT1 setup and what weight savings their is to upgrade to LS1 brakes?

I'll go out on a limb and say the LS1 brakes weigh more.

Baer?

How about just getting a Baer front brake setup? just like LS1 w/o having to swap out so many parts and get an alignment .... i plan on this at some point in the future (finances permitting of course)

input on this would be cool

and weight savings for the baer kits?

peace

My understanding is that the LS1 are lighter they have a aluminum caliper vs a cast iron one LT1, although they have larger rotors. I have beeen told they are lighter but no one knows how much. I spoke to Baer they don`t recomend their brakes for stop and go driving say in rush hour.

Go to the top link im my sig, in winter 2003.

Their C5, but basically the same.

The calipers are much less, stock are 18 i think, the C5s are like 5

rotors are about the same, maybe pound or two more

bob bishop brackets pretty much equal it back out at like 8lbs each

overall i think i stayed the same weight, but gained a piston and 2" on the rotors

No more fade or no stops

Ignore the last post, just looked at the pics

C5 Caliper = 5.5lbs ea
C5 Rotor = 19lbs ea
LT1 Caliper = 12lbs ea
LT1 Rotor = ?? Threw them out before I weighed them, somebody want to weigh one for me?? Id guess a LB or two less
Bob Bishop Bracket = 4lbs ea

Considering the LT1 rotors at 18lbs ea I lost 3lbs

Oh, forgot about the spindles, I lost 5lbs between the two with all the material I cut off.

I agree with this.... when i changed mine out last year i noticed the LSx style brakes are bigger and heavier. The calipers are bigger, rotors are bigger, and even the spindles looked a little more beefy.

The MUCH better braking is well worth the extra weight though
