What is THE valvespring to run?

Anything good that fits in stock pocket? WOuld like a double, not for a huge cam, but healthy ramp rates and prolly 6500 rpm

If you buy a comp seat that fits over the guide, stock heads dont need macining for a 1.46 or 1.5 wide spring.

but as ar as using the stock seat, it is set up for a single spring , still making you have to change the seat (with at least a shim.)

Comp and crane both make a stock dia spring good to .550 lift.

Beehive ovate springs seem to be getting a lot of
press lately.

Comp Press Release
David Vizard Article

Some SS Impala folks have tried them on LT1s and the
spring fits in the stock pocket. There is still lots of talk
about the exact combination because you need special
retainers. LS1s have 8mm vs 11/32 valve stems and I
have not seen a post with everything dialed in.

I would like to see more comments from the f-body folks
regarding the Comp 26915 and 26918 springs.

I am running Comp 987 springs with a 230/236-112 cam. That was what Combination Motorsports and Lloyd Elliott recommended independently of one-another.

The springs required machining the heads, but since they were already getting ported and all, it was only slightly more.

I am going to be running Comp Cams 977 springs with my XE 242/248 in my new stroker motor. These were reccommended to me by Phil at Advanced Induction.

What machining was required?
