what valves to run with a supercharger.
I am wondering if anyone can help me here. I have a 1995 Trans am That I am building a 383 all forged bottom end with 6" H beam rods, 9 to 1 compression and running a set of ported LT4 heads and Intake. I am running a Vortech supercharger with 12 pounds of boost. I am wondering where to find some good valves. I wanted to buy Severe duty Manley's but they do Not make them in 2.00 Int. and 1.56 Exh. they only make Raceflows. Will these hold up? I am mostly running the car on the street and it ill only see the strip at the most 5 times a Year. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot
I've had a couple negative experiences with manley stuff (quality) & tend to stick with Ferrea for most sbc apps now. Really though, you can always cut down 2.02/1.60 valves if you're forced to to run exactly what you want.
I think a normal ferrea 6k series valve would probably be just fine, but they do have the sizes you want in some of their higher nickel content valves.
Poke around, www.ferrea.com or call'em & you'll probably find what you're looking for methinks. REV is also down in FL.. might be worth your time to give them a call as well.

You would do better with a larger exhaust relative to intake valve on a supercharged application. These apps are limited by exhaust flow, not intake. As far as brands go, you can't go wrong with Ferrara.
Any of the big companies will have SBC valves in a myriad of sizes.
