what to use to push caliper piston in when changing pads

I'm about to change my rear breaks on my car. I know it is real easy I just haven't done it before.

What tool/clamp should I get to push the piston in when I am changing the pads?

Also is there anything else that I need to get besides new pads, rotors, and whatever I'll use to press in the piston?

Youll need spindle grease and a C clamp (channel vise) to put the calipers back in.

yep, I just put the old pad back on, and then compress the piston with a c-clamp. Just make sure you don't kink the piston, or go to fast, I think it is possible to burst a break line.

On my rear calipers, I can push the piston back in with my fingers, maybe there something different on the 93 rear calipers and pistons, or something wrong with mine?

I dunno. On my 93, I had to use a C clamp on all 4 calipers

I did my brakes today and I used a huge set of plyers. These are adjustable from like 5 inches out to 1/2 inch. Took just under 2 hours from start to finish.

might wanna take the brake cap off of the canister when you compress the pistons. it might make it easier to compress them.

I use the clamp when I can find it, but if you do it before you remove the rotor, you can just use a big screw driver behind the pad to pry it in.

I did rear pads this weekend and I was able to push the piston in with my hands -- just put the old pad on there and push steadily with your thumbs
