What type of timing chain do I need for my setup???
What type of timing chain do I need for my setup???
I am building a solid roller LT4 383 motor that will have a 300-350 shot being sprayed on top of it.
Whay brand/type of timing chain would you guys recommend that I use with this setup?
I was thinking a double roller with electric waterpump. But I am open to suggestions.

Sorry about that Rob. It is a 94 Trans Am. I was already thinking of switching to the vented opti, but I might go dynaspark, so I don't know if that matters either.

also is this a street car, or track?
I personally wouldnt go with a elec wp/double roller if it was a street car
i got a 355 turbo and have a gm extreme timing chain set

For cars with the non-vented opti, you are pretty much stuck with the stock cam gear and timing set or a very expensive aftermaket gear set.

I'd reccomend an Adamantium timing chain... they are hard to find but I think summit sells them. Strongest metal around...unbreakable they say.

The car is going to have to do a little daily driving, not much but some. I am also driving 4000 miles this summer for the Hot Rod Power Tour.
Here is the short sig Shoebox:
383 (callies, JE FSR, Clevite, hellfires)
fully ported LT4 heads/intake by Jordon Musser
58mm TB
solid roller camshaft
300-350 direct port NX setup
a4 with 3600 stall
12bolt
