I put an MSD Billet on my new 355 and I have nothing but praise for this opti. Sunday I was cruising and the hose off the drivers side of the water pump let go, spraying coolant directly on the opti. Not so much as a stutter. Had to add a little over a gallon of coolant to top it off. Fixed the hose, car fired right up and still runs like a champ.

So IMHO MSD is the only way to go.

I would just go with the GM opti.......i've read many more horror stories than positive stories about other brands.....good luck either way you choose

I say get factory gm model. I have had good luck with them. I just took mine apart for my LTCC coil conversion, and they put factory locktite on the screws. The actual optical sensor is a mitsubishi part within the opti.

Stick with the stocker GM opti (AC Delco) as it's about half the price of the MSD unit and IMO they are more reliable as the MSD's are prone to coming apart at higher RPMS and the cap screws can come out at MSD doesn't locktite em' in. Do some searches and you'll find tons of info.
