What type headers?

I'm looking at buying headers for my car, right now i've seen a couple sets of pacesetter long tubes and edelbrock shorties pretty cheap... i was wondering what the advantages are of long tubes over shorties etc. Also what brands would anybody recommend. I'm also looking at running cutouts on the exhaust if anyone could give me information on that too. thanks

Re: What type headers?

If emissions arent a concern, get long tubes.More HP and Tq. across the board.Only drawbacks are being harder to install. And ground clearance.Kooks are the best.Hookers,Jet Hotts,Pacesetters are good and cheaper.Cut outs allow you to bypass the mufflers, giving less restriction+power and noise.

I was under the impression that with LT's you can still hook up AIR and O2's(with extensions). Also a guy on here who ran ORY into cat and passed emissions.(No visual insp, test only) Am I mistaken? If so I'm going to have to go with some mid tubes for emissions hook-ups.

Re: What type headers?

u can still pass emissions with long tubes as long as u have teh rigt stuff and all ur emsions equipment on

as for visual if u dont know the guy u may not pass as long tubes move ur cats or eliminates them , any movement of teh cats is a no no

Re: What type headers?

emissions here in CT isn't that big of a deal, its not a visual test just the computer... would i have to move the cat since im running headers into a y pipe w/ flowmaster catback... anyway my car is due for emissions in a few days so the headers probably wont even be on yet...
I bid on some pacesetter LT's on ebay so hopefully ill be getting those... as for the cut outs, where can i buy that from and is it something i can install or somethin hard to do

Re: What type headers?

u have a 95 u dont have OBDll so they wont test ur computer

with longtubes, u have teh single cat so u can just put a highflower on the end of teh y-pipe it shouldnt move it much if any

good luck, someone chime in if i am wrong
