jsut seems like your going to half as it and cost you more then it should.
hope you at least have good valve springs, RR's, lifters, forged rods.

stock vakvesprings with a cc306. good luck with that. And without a converter, you are going to have vaccum issues not to mention the tuning issues.

Use some sense and wait until you can do it all at once. you arent going to be in the 12s as is

I totally disagree. I have a 306 and the stock converter works just fine for me. It would be much more accurate to say you won't get the full advantage out of a 306 with a stock converter. Also, it was mentioned in another reply, that vacuum is an issue with a stock converter. Also untrue, but I live in the suburbs and stop and go traffic is not a big issue.

you will need valve springs forsure.
I think other than that you should be OK as long as you dont sit in alot of stop and go traffic.
One thing I am unsure about is if you dont have headers you might be chokeing it out.It will be taking alot in but will it be able to get the exhaust out.

Do a search for the thread I created a while ago about the 306 with stock heads.

EDIT:

the hackdyno isnt up anymore, but I might still have it.

Ok, so everything but the heads will be done then.... but the heads will be a couple of months?
I dont see why you dont jsut wait, instead of taking down your heads twice.

i have seen many cars with big cams and stock heads that run 12's, i know altjar (or something like that) runs low 12's on stock heads and a gm847 cam, which is simular to a cc306.

Why do you say you have to pull the heads for a cam swap?

You don't...

Seal: Most (including myself) are running mid twelves ~112-114 with the 306/stock heads. Most of the answers you will get are from people who DON'T run that cam. Be careful and selective about who/what you listen to.

your right, I said down, not off.
but you gotta strip everything off, replace it with the new springs, rods, rr....etc.
then get your new heads, (or yours reworked) in either case you have to take everything off, and then put it on again.
and at one point the heads have to come off too still.
So Twice.
