At what temp. does OBDII enter into closed loop

Trying to figure out if i want to run a 160 t-stat or not. What temperature does the PCM enter closed loop on a 97. Is there any other factors that effect whether or not it goes into closed loop.

Coolant temp for closed loop varies, over the range of 120-140degF. You will not have a problem with a 160degF 'stat.

The two other things that enable closed loop are hot/active O2 sensors, and a timer that seems to be about 2 minutes after startup in summer weather.

Thanks.

I had a 160 in my 95 Z28 and the car liked it, i put one in my 96 and it didnt seem to run as good. I was wondering if it had something to do with OBD2 compueter.

Maybe it was just me.

I guess ill try it in the 97.
