Question What is the strongest Pinion Bearing?

Who makes the strongest pinion bearing for a stock 10-bolt F-body rear end? Surely aftermarket ones are stronger than GM bearings. I seemed to have worn out the pinion bearing that is in the housing, not the one on the pinion itself. Is there a stronger one? A race version?

Any idea on part numbers, or where to buy these?

The Autozone chain of stores carries Timken bearings. The 10 bolt is quite common, and they should have them there. If not, you can usually find a local bearing distributor. It's worth the extra couple bucks.

I think the OEM bearing is Timken (mine is anyway).

I guess I'll swing by AutoZone. Hopefully they will be as good or better than stock. Then again the stock one may be Timken.

Stock replacement timken should do fine. How many people have you actually heard of having an outer pinion bearing fail? Not that many....you should be fine.
