What is the stall on a fatory 97Z convertor?
What is the stall on a fatory 97Z convertor?
Just like the question asks what is the stall speed on a factory convertor in my 97Z? Do all after market convertors over STL multiplication?
Re: What is the stall on a fatory 97Z convertor?
I'm pretty sure it's around 1800ish. Not all aftermarket converters offer the STR multiplication. SLP for example has a 2400 and 2800 converter which is a stock restalled converter. Vigilante and other "expensive" brands offer 2.0-2.5 or higher (depending on stall speed, application and size) STR.
Re: What is the stall on a fatory 97Z convertor?
What exactly is STR multiplication? I just bought a vigilante 3800 stall and i know it comes with one free restall but i want to know what STR multiplication is. Thanks

In a couple of words, it multiplies your torque. So if you have 300 RWTQ at 3800 or wherever it hits, it will launch you with 600 RWTQ for a 2.0 ratio. I call it a nice kick in the butt.

Dont think in an idiot because this stuff is new to me, but is this STR multiplication something that you have to specify when you order or is it already incorporated in the stall size you choose. I ordered my vig through cmotors so they just asked me a few general questions but thats it. How do you tell what STR multiplication you have?

You don't request it. It's built in and it's manufacturer specific. I beleive VIG's is 2.5, but I may be wrong. You can call them and ask or maybe someone else will reply.
