i was just about to post the same type of question, what type of leak does this sound like i cleaned the area around the main seal and the next day checked it out but it was steal clean. the area around the opti is oily and the water pump it doesnt leak above the pump so its probaly coming from there, what do yall think? ohh if it is that how hard a fix is it taking of the water pump

My oil cooler was leaking, I did a search and found out how to
remove the oil cooler. It was easy, and now I have no leaks in the back part of the engine, and have just a small leak around the front timing cover. Also the intake manifold is a big problem leaking with lt1 engines

To find my oil leak, I put some dye in the engine oil. Then, I ran it for 20 minutes and looked under the car with a black light that came with the kit and found where the oil was leaking from. It turned out to be from the oil dip stick.

about $10 for the kit. You have to look in the A/C repair stuff at O'Reilys Auto Parts.

Yea what he said, if it has a seal, it leaks!!! You could follow me oil trails and tell where I go the most, im seriously not joking. (I go through a 5quart bottle of mobile 1 every week) I think im leaking from the valve covers, timing cover, oil sensor, rear main, you name it...

Mine only leaks for about a week after I change the oil, only about 2-3 drips a day so it's no biggie, just frustrating. I know where it's coming from (the oil pan), just haven't fixed it yet.

Yeah about any seal can be a culprit, most people do not oil them or instal them correctly.
I can never get a front main not to seep!!!!

That's insane...5 qts/week!? You need to get things sealed up and make sure your motor isn't eating oil (sounds like it may be if you really are using 5 qts/week).

If you seal them up correctly, you really shouldn't have any oil leaks.
