The outside screws are E4 Torx. Many places sell the socket.

Once you have the screw how are you turning it into the tool?

If that's the case, then why not just pick up a torx screw from a hardware store, and just make a driver out of it, instead of damaging the threads on one of your TB screws.

Use a pair of vise grips on the very end of the screw, but be careful so you can reuse the screw.

The other option is getting a E4 socket from Snap-On, Mac, you might be able to special order one from Sears.

>I got my socket from a Snap On truck parked at a garage selling to the local mechanics. He was happy to sell to me.
But as stated above I'm sure Craftsman makes one by now.

Before I invested in the correct socket, I used a 'double nut' on the TB cover screw.. [no damaged threads, and you can use a socket, or nut driver, on the nut.. ]

This sounds good as to not ruin the screw.
Thanks

Re: What size torx socket to take apart the optispark?

Lisle Tools used to make a deep E4 socket that works perfect for $8, but discontinued it. You might be able to still find it at auto parts stores that carry their brand, Murrays, CarQuest, etc.

Hey man, just take a trip down to your local hardware store and buy yourself a set of torx drivers, they are not expensive.

After looking in Lisle's catalog, they do have it. Couldn't find it earlier, oh well.
