What size muffler will fit where my cat converter/offroad pipe is?
I just cut my Dynomax muffler off because I need a deeper sound. I'm replacing it with a flowmaster. I'm not here to discuss which brand muffler I'm getting but rather what SIZE muffler will fit in the cat converter area.
Right now I've got an offroad pipe installed in that area, coming off of my y-pipe. I recently got the car on a lift and measured the distances and lengths of that area, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a muffler off hand that they currently had in that location. I plan on putting a 45 degree dump on the outlet end of the muffler. Thanks in advance guys.

I used a 3" diameter Dynomax bullet muffler. It's listed as either 18" or 12", depending on the company. The important part is that the shell of the muffler is 12" long. I had mine welded in place of the car with a stock 2-bolt flange on the rear, and a 3-bolt header flange on the front. I have a cat with the same flanges for inspection.
