What size fuel line is the feed and return on LT1 rail?

Im trying to find somethign to adapt the female fuel line ends to AN fitting. Im not aware of anything like that, so I was thinking about getting the male end of the GM style quick disconnect to plug into those lines, and flare them or soemthing so Id have a male end to adapt to AN.

Any of you aware of a way I could get something to work?

I think summit is selling something like this now.

You might be able to have something welded up.

They are very close to 3/8 and 5/16th btw.

all the majors, earls, parker, russell all sell a hard line to male AN adapter. You may have to cut on your lines a bit to get a good clean round spot. Parker also makes one from dementional line to male and female NPT.

60 is actually pretty low pressure

I've been using Pure Choice fuel rail adapters for most of the LT1 conversions I've done... www.purechoicemotorsports.com Jason there is a nice guy & makes nice parts for a reasonable price. Besides having adapters that snap on to the fuel rail he also makes adapter hoses that will connect the LT1 fuel rail to many vehicles factory fuel lines.

gotchya... that IS a good question I dont have any ideas without cutting. My first thought would be to cut the ends off the plastic line right where the metal fitting is & have another fitting put on the plastic line that has an AN adapter available, but I'm sure you already thought of that & don't want to do it . I like your idea of flaring the metal ends from the metal lines that go between the fuel rails & plastic lines... thats about the only other solution I can think of at the moment. I like my first idea a little better though since there would be less fittings/adapters involved

Just curious... what are you building that you need this done for?

I would normally just call Pure Choice in the morning, but want an answer now

Anyhow, how exactly do these fittings that convert the rails to -AN work without welding? Do you pop out the stock hardlines out of the rail, tap it, then screw in a -AN fitting? If that's the case, I didn't know there was enough meat in that area to do that. If so, then that's a pleasant surprise

While we're on the subject, how many feet of hose is needed to get from where the stock hardlines end to the back of the fuel rails? I plan on routing the hose through the trans tunnel to the back of the motor. With my car stored 90 miles from me, it's kinda hard to measure right now Thanks!

Re: What size fuel line is the feed and return on LT1 rail?

Go to the web site listed below. It shows how the Pure CHoice fittings install. I used them to completely delete the plastic lines on my 96 Z and converted it to -6AN braided. It looks much better, I ever re-routed them so that they cannot be seen unless you look rally hard. I used the Pure Choice fittings on the fuel rail and on the hard lines under the car also. With the lines under the car, the fittings were really tight and I had to use some fine sandpaper and steel wool to get them to fit. I really liked the outcome though. Check out the site, it gives some good pictures on how the fittings fit onto the rails. The pure choice fittings are nice because there was no cutting of the hard lines or fuel rail. Good luck.

Here is what you need:

http://www.amstreetrod.com/165008ERL.php4

You need one 165056ERL for the return line and one 165006ERL for the feed line. You will have to cut the hard lines just a little bit because there is a knurl (for lack of a better word) on the line about 1 1/2' from the end that the stock plastic fitting snaps into. You will have to cut the lines behind this so it's not in your way. It's not that big of a deal. You can do it easily with a tubing cutter

You can see the fitting here, right under the regulator and the 90 degree bend off the bottom (return).
