What should I expect for HP with a 230/236 on stock heads?

Car has Pacesetter LT's with true dual exhaust, 4:10's, bolt ons, etc....

I dont want to rev past 6k on the stock bottom end. Where would this cam make its max power on stock heads and how much would it be???

Thanks

the cam will still be climbing after 6k so its hard to say...you should be able to pull off ~350 to the wheels with good tuning and all the other given stuff...

Id say that 350 would be a great # to lay down with that cam on stock heads...just dont be dissapointed if you fall a little short...

...but anything is possible...

There's nothing wrong with running past 6k rpm on the stock bottom end. Give the LT1 a little more credit than that

I run mine up to ~6250 rpm, and I have been for almost a year w/ no problems whatsoever.

Times in the sig.

I had considered swapping my hot cam for the 230/236 but I have the LT4 heads. I wonder what kind of gain I could get from hot cam to the 230/236?

Its a pretty good cam, my buddie dynoed 347/350 RWHP/RWTQ but a hotcam car is faster in an open stretch & at the track because this cam falls on its face at 6kRPM cuz of the XE fast ramp rate.

If you dont want to rev past 6K why are you a doing a cam that big?

You will probably lose low end, have came surge, and then when you start to really make good power your gunna shift it. You need to get a cam that will match your driving style.

Im not trying to be a dick or anything, but that just doesnt make much sense.

If you do a cam this size right, with the right parts to go with it and without all the crazy bolt ons you can see 350/350 AND it will go to 6,600rpm easy. THIS IS IF YOU DO EVERYTHING CORRECTLY.

I've turned a stock LT1 shortblock w/ heads & cam 7000 rpms with no problems. Lasted for awhile too until the oil pickup tube fell off.

The point is this particular cam falls on its face at 6krpm, seen it too many times even on the dyno those XE cams past 6k rpm just fall like rocks.
