Stuff I did today...

Alright so I decided to unplug the MAF and run it like mentioned in my previous thread, and it ran great. So I took off the MAF, cleaned it, decided to take off the TB, and cleaned that with some throttle body cleaner. Everything came good, the gaskets were re-used, but the bottom one kinda crumbled to pieces so I ran over to walmart to get some black RTV silicone and used that, since nothing passes through the bottom except air to the IAC valve (my TB is bypassed so no coolant goes through there).

Ok, got everything back together and took it for a spin and the throttle response is MUCH better, and the car got very sideways, feels like it has more power.

So, the things I learned today were:

1. Next time have gaskets in hand BEFORE you take the throttle body off.

2. Intake elbows will always be a bitch to get on no matter what.

and

3. Do NOT floor it from a 10mph roll at night, because you will get pulled over (yes, it was the first time, luckily I didn't get a ticket because the cop knows my dad since he's a retired NYPD lieutenant....in fact he complimented my tires spinning hard on the 1-2 shift )

Hehe ok goodnight everyone

lol, get the trick flow elbow from summit. pricey but worth it, much easier to get on, couldn't tear it if you wanted to.

I wish my problems were as easy as yours. I may have to take mine into the dealership to get mine fixed as I don't know if I want to mess with steering columns and the pass-key antitheft system.
