You can't read it with a meter to check the performance. It is a magnetic sensor. The only way to monitor it's performance would be with an O scope, or of course a scanner. But even if you monitor it with a scanner and see it's not reading correctly, it's still probably a wiring problem.
Since you already replaced it, forget about the sensor. The problem should be in the wiring or the PCM.
I responded to your previous post by instructing you to check for ground, 12 volts and ohm the signal wire to the PCM. Have you checked these 3 items?
