Question What is a REV KIT?

I saw on a bundh of posts that some people had rev kits in adjacent to their cams such as CC306. What exactly is the kit and what does it do, Prices, requirements, is it really needed.

Later, guys,

It adds spring pressure to the lifter body to keep the lifter on the cam. So that you can rev a setup higher without having valve float. Reason you use this instead of just using a beefier valve spring is valve springs put pressure on the plunger and can collapse a hyd roller lifter.

I think they cost around $200.

They do not "add" hp, per say. They allow you to rev. higher, which may be where your hp is. These are usually only for extreme rpm cams. And most if not all cam. manufacturers sell them.

They decrease or stop valve float allowing you to gain back or see the HP you could be loosing. Its mostly used for high revving motors.
