what pushrods? what gaskets?
what pushrods? what gaskets?
Put in a gm847 cam, crane double springs, and crane gold roller rockers. need to get some pushrods that will hold up to the high lift/duration. Which do you recommend? I read that a 7.200" should be used but I searched and couldn't find a part #.
Also, I looked at the parts store and I got the timing cover gasket set but it didn't have the smaller opti/water pump seal that goes into the timing cover. I went back to advanced and tried to look it up but couldn't find it. If anyone has the part # that would be awesome!
Thanks!
Craig

Re: what pushrods? what gaskets?
I used comp hardened push rods with my XE 224/230 and non-self aligning 1.6 pro mags. I got them from Thunder, I think they're around $35ish.
For the timing set is this the one you're talking about: TCS45956

Re: what pushrods? what gaskets?
You really need to check your pushrod length using an adjustable pushrod tool and a couple ofchecking springs to be sure that you get the correct length. For example the correct length for my head/cam/spring package with Comp Pro Mags turned out to be 7.050"

Proper length will make a big difference on the pushrods. No two engines are the same and ya need the GM guideplates with the hardened pushrods.
Shoeboxe's site should have all the info on part number's ya need. The seals are a dealer item.
Re: what pushrods? what gaskets?
Ditto what Chris said. A PR checker is an essential tool if you are going to start building engines. Look here for some info: http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Cu...ML/306-307.asp Comp #7905 is a checking PR with a range of 6.100-7.500" and costs <$15.

well i'm using stock heads, stock lifters, and no guideplates. I have self aligning roller rockers. It should be fine with a standard 7.200" pushrod.
