At what point is my catback restricting me?
At what point is my catback restricting me?
I just dyno'd SC'd tonight - 431/475 with the car breaking up ( I think it's plug gap or other ignition woes) but at what point is my cat back going to hurt performance? I have:
Hooker JH LT's - 3" ypipe - modded SLP LM into 2 1/2 in dual 2 1/2 out Dynomax Super Turbo muffler.
Is this cat back configuration possibly hurting me or am I ok with it?
Just to make this clear - I cut both tailpipes off of the the LM at the Y section wher it goes over the axle - capped one side and installed the muffler.

BTW how are those 3.23's? My wallet is missing them now that gas has hit over $3 a gallon, lol.I think you'll be fine with your catback for now. You might see some gains going to duals or a Cantonracer "sewer pipe" catback. But I'd save my money for "problems" that you might encounter in the future

If you have a 2.5" bullet in there thats definatly a huge restriction. The stock catback is 2.75" and 99% of the aftermarket ones are 3" I think even over a 3" you would gain atleast 10rwhp with true duals, the 2.5" is definatly choking ur motor.
