At what point do you need to upgrade your injectors?
At what point do you need to upgrade your injectors?
I am going w/ a LE2 Head package and was thinking about the LE 226/232 .578/.574 cam. 1 ¾ headers high flow cats to loudmouth exhaust. Thinking about sending in the intake for some porting to. This is pretty much a summer time daily driver.

If you go with a larger throttle body (52+ mm), then I'd definately recommend the upgrade.

Typically you take your expected flywheel HP and multiply it by .07 to achieve recommended injector sizing (for NA only).
For example, if you expect 425fwhp you'd need (425 x .07) 30# injectors.

As for other brands.....there are several (Accel, Bosch, Holley, MSD) but since I won't use them, I can't recommend them.
I've used Lucas and Siemens but have never seen either one that were below 42LBs.

Re: At what point do you need to upgrade your injectors?
Seems like I am right on the border of needing them.. Would a new Tune be in order if I stayed w/ my stock ones and upgraded later?
Re: At what point do you need to upgrade your injectors?
You should tune it regardless or else itll run like crap with a cam like that. I say spend the cash for injectors now thatll also suit your needs later on. Id be scared running the stockers with anything more than a hotcam in the car.
Re: At what point do you need to upgrade your injectors?
I should have been more clear Dan93z28.. I meant to ask, if I got tuned using stock injectors would a new tune be required if I upgraded to 30 lb injectors at a later date..
Re: At what point do you need to upgrade your injectors?
You would need to change the injector constant in the PCM for the new injectors at the very least and to get things dead on you would probably need to adjust the tables very slightly. Check out Racetronix, they sell injectors for just about every application. The Fast 37 lb/hr injectors work well with the LE2 combo.
