what is the part on the valvecover??
My valve cover is leaking from the grommet that the pcv valve type thing is going into on the passenger side cover. I would like to replace the grommet and part together but cant find out what they are or the part numbers. Ive been to Car Quest, Auto Zone, and Advance. BTW, does anyone's oil filler neck leak where it connects to the valve cover? Mine does and I wipe it off every couple weeks.
go to advance or whatever part place u go to get a valve cover grommet set they come in packs of 3 or 4 cant remember with diff sizes in em one of them will be yours ..........try tightening your neck also by turning it to the right if it doensent go to dealer and get neck nuthin aftermarket yet
GM PART # 10088126 for the grommet.
GM PART # 12550625 for the connector elbow that goes on the end of the hose and into the grommet (it's not a valve). No need to replace it, unless it is damaged.

If yours is damaged an alternative replacement to the gm part is the purolator crank crase breather part # B23165
it fits there and hooks up to your stock emissions pipe but has a filter in it to keep oil from creeping up the hose, and if you have an advanced auto you can pick it up locally rather than ordering from gm parts direct. I just put one on my car tonight and it fits perfect.

If the valve cover is leaking, you may want to check the PCV valve to make sure its not plugged up, and allowing pressure to build in the crankcase. The PCV valve is on the driver's side of the intake manifold, in the middle.
Yeah my PCV valve clogged up, not sure if the original owner ever changed it. Oil started seeping around the gromet you are talking about, and oil was actually backing up the tube into the throttle body. Changed the PCV valve and all is good.
Only like 2 bucks and a ten minute swap too.

Swapped pcvs since I thought that might be the culprit before posting. I also have a huge hole in the hose going to the pcv, so that didnt help. The old pcv valve was full of oil but still moved when I shook it. No wonder the spark plug nearest to the pcv valve looked different than the rest last plug change. The grommet and elbow are very loose fitting right now, and actually falls out sometimes. Thanks for the p/ns!
