What is this noise when I WOT

When I floor it for a few seconds and I get to about 5,000 rpms and say 60 mph...I let off the gas pedal and I hear a SCREECH for a second under the hood...Is this my belt?

It could be, But When I let off the gas it screeches just for a split second. Maybe the shift kit has something to do with it...plus i'm in Overdrive.

My opinion, stay away from the Goodyear belts as I had one come apart on my Stock LT-1 and wrapped itself up in the A/C compressor pulley ruining it. And to make things worse they wouldn't warranty it at GM as the belt caused the problem. Granted this was over 10 years ago, but I still will never buy a Goodyear belt again, but their tires are good.

Which belt should I get? It's probably the Stock belt 15 years old, So I should replace it.

Well seeing how I run a gatorback with NO issues (it is even frayed from a PS line) and My car puts down 410RWHP. I would say there a great belt. Its been on the motor for over one year. I have a spare int he back for when the fry decides to get bigger lol. And I run an electric water pump, no AC etc So im not worried about it.Oh and on top of that I spray the car with a 150 shot.
And the car shifts around 6700RPM

*ALL* belts are susceptible to ripping apart.

I have used Gates and Goodyear belts, both seemed good quality.
Either way, changing the belt is one of the nicer jobs on the LT1.
Wouldn't hurt to put a new tensioner pulley on there as well.
Regards,Mark.
