What Next after LT's??
Re: What Next after LT's??
Aight well thanks guys im leaning more toward gears now but i can't decide rather i want 3.73's or 4.10?!
Whats the difference in speed that you get traction at in 4.10's? ( i mean just enough so you don't just blow the tires off) Can you still spine them going 30 or 40 or what? Just give me an idea of just how bad traction is with one or the other. I'm not really worried about gas mileage since i don't do alot of highway driving YET and the difference at highway cruising speeds with 4.11's and 3.73's is just a few hundred RPM's right?
How useless does both gears make 1st or 2nd gear? Also wont 4.11's give me a little more up top for the ls1's? btw i have 255's kumho esta supra's is that helps any.

Well i think about mid way through 2nd gear if you can get the downshift to hit the right spot youll break the tires loose just a little...If you dont need to worry about highway def go with the 4.10...
Re: What Next after LT's??
Besides if you do plan on a cam swap later down the road you may need to swap converters again depending on what you do, while a gear change will work either way. If you do the gear change though and plan on doing it your self make sure you set it up right, otherwise you'll chew it up fast.I sorta wanted to attempt the gear change myself but Hopefully Uncle Sam is gonna be generous enough so I can buy that Moser 12 bolt!!

. Was that example about the 3.73's or 4.11's?

Re: What Next after LT's??
I talked to a guy down in Indianapolis. He had an ls1 TA auto with 4.10 gears. Said at about 70mph on the highway he was at about 3500-3600 RPMS!!! I would reccommend 3.73's. As far as stalls go, I have a restalled stocker and its at about 2600, it feels stronger then the orginal stall speed but it isnt that great, I would go for about a 3000 Vig or TCI. Installing a TC isnt that hard, basically just getting the transmission to where u can change out the converters, it will just pull right out if u make enough room. Whatever u do, gears or stall, u will love it. Peace, Dustin.

If you go for a TC, spend the $ right the first time and get a good one. I've been down the el cheapo restall road once... Never again.

There are a couple of guys around where I live that got a restall on their stock stall and it cuts great 60' times! That and you can get a restall around here, with high perf lightweight fins, for ~$400 w/ warranty.
