what is needed to swap 94 rearend into 97?
i finally got a chance to take my 97 Z to NationalTrail Raceway tonight. ran a 14.402 at 97.X mph on a .013 light....and broke out. i'm not disappointed with the times, they're same as my 94Z M6 was stock and same as or better than other stock Z's i've seen there. but i do have a 3.42 rearend sitting in my garage. it's out of my wrecked 94 Z and i'm wondering if it will just swap right in place of my 2.73 rear end. will this screw up the speedometer? will my shift points be messed up? i need to know what all i'll have to change.
i don't know if these gears will help my times or not, i had the same 60' times, the same ET and the same MPH with 94 M6, 3.42s as i had with 97 A4 with 2.73s on the exact same tires.
thanks,
Michael.

If you can hook with the 3.42's they will make you faster. I dont think you will have a problem, you just need to practice with the new gears. As for the swap, yes it will mess up your speedo, not sure about the shift points but if you have a hypertech, they are both easily fixed. Good luck.

does anyone else have information on this?
i'm worried about any electrical hookups and reprogramming, like will the ABS still work, will my computer need reprogrammed? if you've done this before please help.
