When I take off the glove box it is right in the center beside the round thing.This module has about 4 electical plugs on the bottom of it.

Well I could not tell you what it is.
I have not been back there.
If you were able to take a picture and post it on a page I'm sure.
Some body would tell you what it is.
I'm suprise that the Shoebox's web page did not have it on there.

Is it "above" the glove box liner, like where the airbag is located?

 

When you look through the glovebox opening(glovebox removed)It is the box to the far right of the opening and it is eclosed in a plastic holder of some sort.
I wish I could take a pic of it

Are you talking about the bcm??? Body control module? I just re read the thread and yes that is the bcm seeing as you have a 96. I forget what years has them, I know 96 and 97 but I'm not sure if it was ALL vechiles or just ones with anti-theft, blah blah blah...
