Exclamation What mod should I do next

Hello everybody, I have a 96 z28 hatch with SLP cold air induction and an 85mm MAF. Im putting in 3.73 rear end this weekend. And Im going to bypass that CAGS crap in my transmission. I have a custom designed Flowmasters that rore. Keeping in mind that I dont have a hell of a lot of money, what mod should I do next. I appreciate your time, let me know.

subframe connectors. keep it from rattling and stiffen up the entire car. I love mine and I got cheap ones.

Have you done the TB bypass yet? It's VERY easy to do, and it has no downside (I live in SD, and I have no problems with driveability). Do a search, and you will find many, many ideas for it. For a side note, you will NOT need a "kit" to do this, since there are no connectors needed. It is a 6hp gain at the rear wheels

i say get a nice new shifter...it will be more enjoyable EVERY time you drive and it will make you a better shifter, which can make or break a race.

if nothing else get a short stick.

for a budget shifter (typical aftermarket is $175-200), shop around for a hurst unit out of an SS or WS6, then get a lou's short stick for $55.

i did that and i have a great shifter, nice and solid and short throws for a total of $105 all shipping included!

Thumbs up

Another vote for some subframe connectors here.

Think about doing some suspension work. U can't go wrong with some lower control arms and some relocation brackets to help ur traction.

I'll go again with the SFC's. But if you like the money in your pocket, install a tranny cooler.

Agh - I considered getting subframe connectors, but didn't know if it was really necessary without any big mods done to the car. It's a 97 with 116k on it [new motor around 60k]. I have t-tops and some stuff rattles a little, but not bad. The radio bezel rattles sometimes, but when it is lightly touched or pulled on it quiets down [maybe i'll use some padded tape/dynamat to fix that?]. The speaker grills rattle like a mother, but I also keep my stereo pretty loud. I was thinking about getting some dynamat speaker grill padding for that, but that stuff is too expensive for what it does. For that price, those will just have to rattle. The t-tops are starting to rattle slightly, but usually if I take them off and reseat them the rattle stops.

BTW - ever since I started driving my car the shocks have always been pretty loud. When I've asked anyone about it, namely my dad, he said that's just how they've always been. I guess they've kinda been getting to me so I was considering getting some Bilstein shocks and an Eibach lowering kit. I was thinking about going with the 1.25" drop, because my air-damn scrapes already going into some really steep places, so I don't want it to be too low.
