What Material To Use For Sealing Intake?

What Material To Use For Sealing Intake?

Just putting the intake back on, what's the best stuff to seal each end of the intake so It won't leak.

ultra copper rated for 700 degree's or the blue stuff rated for 600 same company makes it, i used the copper no leaks yet

Is this silicone or is it that gasket maker I think they call it.

Copper looking tube. "Permatex Ultra Copper, sensor-safe, high temp RTV, silicone gasket maker".

yes its permatex RTV sealant, i used the copper for the end rails and the blue for the gaskets

Do you have to put gasket stuff on the intake gaskets or is dry good.

I did it dry the last time and didn't have a problem

i used a thin film of the blue stuff just to hold the gaskets together

I only used sealer on the end rails (and up the side of the head about an inch. Nothing on the gasket.

Any reason to use Copper over Black? They are both hi-temp and sensor safe.

like i said before the copper is rated for 700 degree's and the back rail the egr tube tends to get that hot, really dont think 100 degree diffrence will do anything but if you have the abilty to buy the copper why not use it, JMO
