Question What makes an off road pipe different from a regualr pipe?

Just wondering what is the difference between say a normal after market Y-pipe and an off road Y-Pipe? Also how come it seems an off road Y-pipe is so cheaper then say just an after market regular Y-pipe. I mean were talking around $100 in price difference here.

well an offroad pipe is a bad thing if you care about how your car sounds. Offroad pipes in general just sound nasty.

Wouldn't it sound like a regualar Y-pipe with no cat?

I had an off road pipe on my car, and i got tired of the noise, the crackling and raspyness. I just put a cat, back on my car a few weeks ago and i love it. I also picked up some power because i lost several degrees of KR. Keep the cats.

Sorry man but I want some flow and since cats are not needed in my state I'm not going to spend extra money for something I don't need.

Do you have headers? If not, I would suggest bypassing the Y-pipe, saving money and buying a set of nice shorties.
