What is the LT4? I hear lots about it but dont know what it is. I also read somewhere that the SS's had the LT4.... but I thought I had an LT1???
I'm very confused

 

The LT4 was an engine that came only in some '96 Vettes, and a few '97 Camaro SS and Firehawks. It is basically a LT1 with a different set of heads, cam, intake, and a few other subtle differences. They were rated at 330 HP.

 

So I do not have an LT4 right?
I think my car was rated at 315.

Yes, you can also "convert" the LT1 to an LT4 with the addition of the LT4 heads, cam, and intake.
