I just got my car back together and its a pretty strong running motor.. will break the tires loose in 2nd.. my question is what does it feel like for those of you that have these beasts with 600+rwhp? I cant imagine how hard it pulls.. is it hard to control?

 

I can break my tires loose in second or get sideways if i want and my cars stock :} Those guys with 600 hp can prob break them loose in 6th hehe.

 

yea maybe dumping the clutch..im talking about just cruising and hitting it..pull that stock LT1 up next to me and see what happens youll be doing this ha its all good though..

 

freind of min gave me a ride in his T78 single turbo supra. Only pulled like 14 pounds when i was in it...certainly our cars are different cause of the lag but...when that turbo hit, and the wastegate opened...sounded like the end of the world. Glued me to the seat, and the back end started sliding around...in 3rd gear.

 

And that was only 450rwhp, imagine what he'll do to the pavement now...

I can bring her through first hard and shift into second and get her sideways but defintly not cruzing in second and punching it ..... wish i could though. And you would own me if we raced lol. Im gettin my mac mids around Christmas so car should be running stronger after that but nowhere near yours.

 

I drove my buddies 396 lt1 and it dynoed 48X rwhp through a 9 inch and 28" slicks.

That car was nuts. I honestly didnt even push it at all b/c i was scared of it, BUT with him driving it, OMG.

With that being said, i havent dynoed my new motor, but it also is feeling pretty strong. I have nitto DR on it and it will go hard core sideways from just stabbing the gas in 3rd at 50mph (no clutch drop, just in gear and mashing gas). Cant wait to finish tuning it and dyno

Well, from an automatic guys standpoint, I know that 430 (or therebouts) rwhp can be a LOT of fun, but can bite you in the a$$ quick if you don't respect it. I can roll into the gas (fairly hard though) in the middle of second and the tires just go away and it'll spin through a lot of third. Kick it down from 3rd to second at almost any speed and it'll do the same. Kinda scary if the tire pressures arent the same as it tend to wander like RIGHT NOW. Now where it gets a bit nuts is if there is ANY, and I mean ANY moisture on the road. I gotta drive like grammy lol.. I went to pass some lady the other day and it was a little damp out. She was doin 50 or so, and I did my normal swing out and punch to get around here, and it broke loose at around 70 in the middle of third. Needed new shorts after that one. Did you know that you can actually TASTE adrenaline?

I can't imagine what you guys with the 6 speeds and 600+ can do. I still have the nitrous to buy, but I'd give my left nut for a 6 speed. Just can't spare the jack for it after the motor expenses. I'll let ya know what a 2 stage 300 shot feels like before that happens though

Tell you as soon as I get my shot and yes I can smoke the rear tires by just steping on the gas in 2nd no clutch needed, its the TQ not the HP that counts IMHO

 

On the street with street tires it doesn't feel much different than a car with somewhat less hp because all you do is spin the wheels. At higher speeds (100mph+) it's quite a rush though.
