Just get the Comp "R" ones. They're really nice, proven lifters. I beleive stock GM ones are rated to only about 6200-6300 RPM.
Lifters are a crucial valvetrain component. I'd buy the right ones if I were you.

- Comp "R" lifter owner.

PS. When I did the cam install some months ago, new GM lifters didn't cost SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the comp "R"'s, or at least not enough to justify buying them.
I remember seeing some good deals on ebay. Don't know if they still sell them there.

Don't remember... I did the lash the first time and I think I went 1/4 turn over. Then INTMD8 at Speed Inc did it the second time and I think he went 1/8 turn over... PM him directly, I'm sure he'll be happy to help.

I did 1/4 turn with mine. Anywhere from 1/4 - 1/2 is good.

COMP stock replacement lifters...Do they work? I run 12.0 @ 112 MPH and I shift at 6200 RPMs.

There have been NUMERUS threads on here about people having problems with COMP "R"'s. I'm talking about reliability problems. As far as performance, I haven't seen any sustantial proof where they're any better than regular lifters.
So, my thoughts were...Why pay so much more for a lifter that isn't any better, and doesn't last as long?

Actually the Comp Rs are great... the throttle response with them is excellent aswell. Im buying a set now.. I had a collapsed Comp High energy lifter.. I havent read a thread that said anything bad about them....

Ibane6rg ... can you use them in a daily driver?

would an AFR hydra-rev kit help in this situation? with higher revs that is - would it increase the longevity of the lifter?

peace
